Visiting JU

Student Life

Other Resources & Forms

You can’t blend into the background at JU.  You’re going to get your feet wet. You’re going to get your hands dirty. And you’re going to love it.  Come and see for yourself during one of our campus tours!

We want you to see first-hand why you’re going to love JU.  What better way than during a personal visit to our campus?   We offer weekday campus tours Monday-Friday at 11:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m.  However, during the summer semester from May 8th to August 14th, 2009, our Friday tour schedule will change.  We will offer one tour each Friday at 10:00a.m.  Monday through Thursday tours will continue to be offered at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.   Just call us at (800) 225-2027 ext. 7000 and we’ll get things set up for you!

The Office of Admissions appreciates the fact that our prospective students and their families are very busy during the school and work week, so we offer tours on selected Saturdays to accommodate your busy schedules.  Please note that we strongly encourage you to visit during the week if at all possible.  We believe you will get a better "feel" for the JU campus when classes are in session; staff and faculty are on campus; and JU students are busy attending classes and enjoying extracurricular activities.  However, if Saturdays are the only days you can visit, please check out our Stop In Saturday schedule that will begin again Fall 2009.  A Stop In Saturday includes a JU overview with an admissions counselor and a campus tour.

Stop In Saturday JU Stop In Saturdays begin at 9:00 a.m. with an admissions presentation and conclude with a campus tour by about 10:30 a.m.  Appointments are required -- call us at (800) 225-2027 ext. 7000 at least 24 hours in advance.

Flip Flop Friday Start your weekend off on the right foot at a Flip Flop Friday at JU!  Kick off your shoes and spend a 1/2 day with us during one of these ‘open house-like’ events designed to give prospective freshmen students the opportunity to:

  • Tour our beautiful riverfront campus
  • Meet professors and get the JU classroom experience
  • Talk with current JU students
  • Have your questions answered at a panel Q & A

Planning your JU Visit?
Consider the following:

  • Campus tours last approximately 1 hour
  • Dress comfortably!   Meetings with Admission Counselors are informal, so there is no need to wear anything other than what you would normally wear to school.
  • Try to give us a 2-week notice of your visit, if possible.
  • Save some room for a meal in the cafeteria or in one of our other campus eateries.

Your JU Visit
A typical visit to Jacksonville University will include a student guided campus tour & a meeting with an Admission Counselor.  If you have some extra time, you may want to consider asking us to schedule:

  • A visit with one of our professors*
  • Sitting in on a class*
  • Meeting with a Financial Aid Counselor

* Please note that these meetings are best scheduled during the regular semesters (September-late April) as some professors take the summers off. We appreciate your understanding.

We know that when you see JU for yourself, you’ll picture yourself here.  So, call us at (800) 225-2027 ext. 7000 to set up your visit today.
