Further renovations throughout the hospital will include a new cafeteria and remodeling all existing areas.

The Heart Center renovation and expansion is slated to begin in early 2008. This new wing will include a new cath lab, a new EP lab with state-of-the-art 3D mapping software and 24 pre/post OP procedure rooms.

Recent awards and accolades include the prestigious Bariatric Center of Excellence designation by the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, Healthgrades 5-Star rating in Clinical Excellence for Bariatric Surgery and the Blue Distinction Centers for Bariatric Surgery designation by Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Memorial also received the American Stroke Association's Get With The GuidelinesSM – Stroke (GWTG–Stroke) Bronze Performance Achievement Award. The award recognizes Memorial Hospital's commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations. SVHC is widely recognized for excellence in patient care. From delivering healthy babies to helping older adults through their final years with dignity, SVHC offers a continuum of care that is unsurpassed in North Florida. SVHC can do that because our physicians and associates are experts who take pride in living the mission of caring for the sick and poor.

St. Vincent's Medical Center
SVMC has received the Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission, and is accredited for all services surveyed. SVMC also was recognized by U.S.News & World Report in 2006, 2005 and 2003 as one of the top 50 heart hospitals in the nation. Learn more about SVMC here

St. Luke's Hospital
St. Luke's Hospital, the oldest private hospital in Jacksonville, FL, became part of St. Vincent's HealthCare in 2008. The addition to the SVHC family will help expand the Daughters of Charity tradition of care to Jacksonville's Southside. Learn more about this transition here

Outreach Ministries
While dedicated to serving all, SVHC places special emphasis on helping the poor and less fortunate. The award-winning outreach ministries go far beyond SVMC in caring for the community through programs such as the Mobile Health Outreach Ministry, Parish Nurse Ministry, School Nurse Program, and Seton Center for Women and Infants Health. Learn more about these ministries here

Our Roots
Our mission is based in strong traditions of faith. Founded by the Daughters of Charity in 1916, SVHC is now part of Ascension Health, which was formed in 1999 when the Daughters merged their healthcare ministry with the Sisters of St. Joseph Health System. Named among the top three children's hospitals in Florida by Child magazine (2007), Wolfson Children's Hospital, a part of Baptist Health in Jacksonville, is the regional pediatric referral hospital serving children throughout Northeast Florida, Southeast Georgia and beyond. Because children have special health care needs, everything about our hospital is designed just for them and their loved ones.

One of only two children's hospitals in Florida to receive Magnet™ status, Wolfson is nationally recognized for excellence in patient care. Our outstanding nurses and staff, who helped Wolfson and Baptist Health to be named one of the 100 Best Places to Work" by Modern Healthcare magazine, work collaboratively with pediatric physicians from Nemours Children's Clinic , the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville , Brooks Rehabilitation , Mayo Clinic and the Northeast Florida Pediatric Society. These partnerships provide our patients with access to physicians in every specialty and subspecialty of children's medicine. They also have resulted in the creation of programs with services more comprehensive than those available at any single institution, such as the joint adult/pediatric bone marrow transplant program developed by Baptist Health, Wolfson, Nemours and Mayo.

Wolfson Children's Hospital is proud to play an important role in training America's next generation of pediatric professionals, serving as the main teaching facility for the University of Florida/Jacksonville Pediatric Residency Training Program. Wolfson is also affiliated with a number of premier nursing programs, including those at the University of North Florida, Jacksonville University, Florida Community College at Jacksonville, St. Johns River Community College, University of Florida, Florida State University, University of Central Florida and Keiser University.

We're expanding!

Wolfson Children's Hospital is stepping into the future with a vision of growth that will transcend generations. We're expanding our facility, adding 70 new pediatric inpatient beds on three new floors of dedicated pediatric space, along with more family and education areas, doubling our clinical research center and enhancing the education of tomorrow's pediatricians.

A Part of Baptist Health
